Businesses use FrontDesk Talk to text their customers. These terms explain what those messages are, how to stop them, and what businesses must do before sending them.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
1. Program description
FrontDesk Talk is an AI receptionist for small businesses. When a business uses FrontDesk Talk, text messages may be sent from that business's phone number to people who call, text, or book with the business. These messages are about the caller's own interaction with the business, for example following up on a missed call or confirming an appointment.
FrontDesk Talk, LLC also sends account and service texts (such as call summaries, called Talk Notes, and alerts) to our own business customers who turn them on.
2. Who sends the messages
Messages come from the business you contacted, sent on its behalf through the FrontDesk Talk platform. The business name appears in the message. The business is the sender responsible for the messages, and FrontDesk Talk provides the technology. Business numbers are registered with the carriers (10DLC or toll-free verification) as required.
3. How you agree to receive texts
You may receive texts from a business using FrontDesk Talk when, for example:
- You call the business and the call is missed, and the business sends a missed-call text back
- You text the business first, and it replies
- You book, change, or ask about an appointment and agree to receive confirmations and reminders by text
- You give the business your mobile number and agree to receive texts from it
Consent to receive texts is never a condition of buying anything. Businesses that use FrontDesk Talk are responsible for getting any consent required by law before they send texts they initiate.
Requesting a demo call on frontdesk.talk means you agree to one AI demo call. It does not sign you up for marketing texts.
4. Types of messages
- Missed-call text back (Talk Back): a text after a missed call, offering to help by text
- Two-way conversations: replies to your questions and messages
- Appointment messages: confirmations, reminders, reschedules, and cancellations
- Follow-ups: links, directions, forms, or information you asked for
- Account alerts (FrontDesk Talk customers only): call summaries (Talk Notes), urgent message alerts, and account notices
5. Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your interactions with the business. Most people receive only a few messages related to a specific call, conversation, or appointment.
6. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. FrontDesk Talk and the business do not charge you to receive texts. Contact your wireless carrier for details about your plan.
7. STOP, HELP, and START
- To opt out, reply STOP to any message. You can also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. You will get one message confirming you are unsubscribed, and then no more texts from that business number unless you opt back in.
- For help, reply HELP to any message, or email help@frontdesk.talk.
- To opt back in, reply START (or UNSTOP) to the same number.
Opting out of texts from one business does not opt you out of texts from other businesses that use FrontDesk Talk, since each uses its own number.
8. Carriers
Supported carriers include major US wireless carriers, though not every carrier or plan is supported. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our control.
9. Privacy
We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers (such as our messaging provider) only to deliver messages and run the service.
See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle information.
10. Obligations for businesses that send texts
If you are a FrontDesk Talk customer, you agree to:
- Get and keep records of any consent required by law before sending texts you initiate, including prior express written consent for marketing texts
- Only text people who have a relationship with your business and whose numbers you got lawfully
- Identify your business in your messages
- Honor STOP and other opt-out requests right away (FrontDesk Talk processes STOP automatically; do not work around it)
- Not send content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, carrier rules, or CTIA guidelines (for example, SHAFT content: sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco, and cannabis where restricted)
- Respect quiet hours and state laws that limit when and how often you may text
- Provide accurate information for carrier registration and keep it up to date
Carriers may filter, block, or suspend messaging for numbers that receive complaints or break the rules. We may suspend texting on your account to protect the platform. See our Terms of Service.
11. Changes
We may update these SMS Terms. We will change the "last updated" date above when we do.
